The Graphic Design Student Association (GDSA) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) provided me with an opportunity to create an illustration for their screen printing party and annual design conference, Citruspace.
The Citruspace design conference takes place every year at UCF in Orlando, Florida. The conference's name is a combination of Florida's state fruit and Orlando's proximity to the Space Coast.
I wanted to create a playful illustration that tied together with Citruspace's name by incorporating citric planets floating alongside a tail-wagging space corgi.
Each corner of the bandana includes a Citruspace or GDSA logo, making the logos appear upright no matter which direction it is worn by its user.
The print party was held to educate design students on hand-pulling screen prints. Each person was provided black and white coloring sheets to color with as they waited for their turn to make prints.
GDSA posted videos and photographs of the print party on their social media pages. The video above recaps highlights of the event.
Images of the print party shared on GDSA's Instagram page.
Bandanas and paper prints were set on drying racks until the ink dried.
